Belated Momma Update

Sorry it’s been such a long time since I posted any updates. I’ve been busy just trying to make sure she’s eating enough.

Mom is finally feeling *mostly* better. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her get so sick with chemo before. She could hardly eat or drink for what seemed like weeks. Her appetite is back but she can only eat what sounds good to her at the moment in time.
She thinks that maybe she had the flu. I don’t think it was. It seems that she gets sick 4 or 5 days after the chemo and it seems that the longer she’s been on the chemo, the longer it takes for her to recover from it.

Mom is supposed to call Dr. Dy today to see about getting Emend, an anti-nausea medicine that works really well for her. The downside to this is it is a 3 day medicine, one pill the day before her chemo, one the day of and one the day after. She is scheduled to have chemo tomorrow. We’re hoping that she can get it in enough time to work.

Anyways, thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers for my mom. She got countless cards in the mail and she appreciated every single one of them. And each card had a funny way of showing up just when she needed it the most.
